Experiences with choosing 'quiet' accomodation? (especially at RHUL)

Hello, I'm a calm, focused person who isn't interested in drinking or partying but still wants to make friends and socialise.

I'll be applying for accomodation at Royal Holloway soon and I was thinking about choosing 'quiet' as a living preference for my accomodation.
I'm slightly concerned people will be closed off, but then again I also come across as reserved. Could anyone tell me their experiences with living in 'quiet' accomodation? Or any other living preference.

Hi,

I am not in RHUL personally but from my experience, “quiet” accommodations are generally very quiet where there’s not much socialisation going on. A lot of third years may prefer this type of accommodation. For the other type, you end up with a mix of people (e.g., reserved, extroverted, introverted) and not necessarily only people who like to drink or party.

Sorry I can't answer your question perfectly, but I got my accommodation earlier today, and I went for a quiet flat. I would say I am very similar, I dont want lots of drinking or partying but dont want to be completely isolated. Im hoping that people won't be completely shut off too, just quiet and not inviting 30 people over for pres etc.

Thanks for sharing, may I ask which uni you applied for accomodation for?
