Camp america 2026

Hey all, last year i had paid a deposit and everything for camp america and was meant to be going this summer. Idk if it's a good idea to still go though with all the political stuff going on at the moment.

I went last summer and was completely fine but idk how much worse it is now and idk if its worth wasting my deposit money or if its a legitimate concern i should have.

During camp america I'll probs be at a camp in the middle of the woods 80% of the time so I think the main issue would probs just be travelling there and maybe certain days out into NYC.

Hi there,

Camp America sounds like a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge, while also making some incredible friends and memories along the way!

It’s completely normal to have the worries you mentioned. It shows you’re thinking carefully about how your current situation might affect your experience. That said, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will encounter these issues during your Camp America placement.

It might be helpful to speak directly with the Camp America team about your concerns, as they may be able to give you more information about the support available at camp and help answer any specific questions you have. You could also try looking at reviews or speaking to people who have previously taken part in Camp America to get a better idea of what the experience is like.

If you’re still feeling unsure, it may also be worth checking whether it’s possible to get your deposit back if you decide not to go ahead. Alternatively, you could explore similar opportunities, such as Camp Canada.

Ultimately, it’s about choosing what feels right and most comfortable for you. Taking some time to weigh up your options is completely okay.

I hope this helps!
