UoY accommodation

i’m going to be a first year nursing student at the uni of york 2026/27 and i’m currently looking for accommodation. the options are 40 and 44 weeks, as far as im aware. as a nursing student i assume i will be staying longer than this. how do i go about this in terms of accommodation let lengths/are there options to extend it?

the UoY website says that nursing students should apply for an accom with a 44 week let length. Each individual type of accomodation (you can find them all here: https://www.york.ac.uk/study/accommodation/rooms-prices/#price) has a specific let length so when applying for accomodation you would need to specifically select these ones as your options. Hi!

Both Nursing and Midwifery courses end later than most other courses at the University. For students studying these courses, we recommend applying for a 44-week contract, which is our longest undergraduate contract option. When that contract ends, you can apply for our summer accommodation to stay on campus for the remainder of your first year, and as a nursing or midwifery student your application will be prioritised. Applications for summer accommodation usually open in May or June. 🏡

Congratulations on your place at York, we can't wait to welcome you!💛
