french movie recommendations

hi all, what are your favourite french movies and which ones would you recommend? i'm watching these movies to help improve my french but recommendations of any level is appreciated!

i'll start. my favourite french movies/series are:
- mixte (2021)
- skam france season 3 (is anyone surprised? i mean the only reason skam france is popular is because of lucas and elliot)
- les choristes (this made me cry and i am not ready to feel so much again any time soon)
- summer of 85 (yet another one which made me cry. i will never recover from this movie)
- le petit nicolas (the classic, of course! i've watched it 4 times)

series which aren't necessarily my favourite but that i would recommend nevertheless:
- the 7 lives of lea
- lupin (of course! even those who don't learn french know this)

some unpopular opinions: i actually hate amélie (please don't come for me...). i respect people who love it but the movie just doesn't vibe with me at all. just thought i'd put it out there in case anyone thinks of recommending it to me.
i also do not like les intouchables. i just couldn't really feel for the characters for some reason. also 'ma vie de courgette' is a movie which many have said made them cry but i didn't.

maybe i just vibe better with less popular french films, who knows.

also if anyone's interested here's my letterboxd list of french films https://letterboxd.com/jude_maverick/list/films-francais/ feel free to check out my account as well

Hello! FYI, I am fluent in French and I really like French cinema.
What a great idea to watch French films to improve your French! I recommend some masterpieces that are also accessible for those learning the language:
Essential classic films:

Amélie (2001) - Perfect for learning! Clear dialogue, romantic and visually stunning

Ratatouille (2007) - Pixar animation in French, interesting culinary vocabulary

Intouchables (2011) - Touching story between a wealthy tetraplegic and a banlieue assistant, natural dialogue

To improve your French:

Léon (1994) - Action with Jean Reno, intense but comprehensible dialogue

Delicatessen (1991) - Strange and fascinating, but somewhat more difficult

Un prophète (2009) - Dramatic, authentic language

Light comedies:
Bienvenue chez les Chtis (2008) - Hilarious, showcases regional dialects

Ciao,
Sandro
