Access to HE (Merits) applying to UoB Social Work BA

Hi everyone

I’ve applied for the University of Birmingham for the Social Work BA. I’m currently doing an Access to HE diploma and Functional Skills in maths. I was just wondering if anyone who has done something similar has been accepted onto the course.

At the moment I’m getting merits in my course and I know UoB usually ask for more distinctions than merits. I did speak to them about the grading and they basically said it depends, so they didn’t give a very clear answer.

Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and still got an offer. Thanks 😊

University of Birmingham (UoB) accepts Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas on a merits basis for their BA (Hons) Social Work program, provided it's in a relevant social science area.
Access to HE Requirements
The specific merits profile is a minimum of 60 credits total, with 45 at Level 3: at least 30 credits at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit.
