Boy Advice?? i'm desperate please help me xx

Hi, I’m 17 and I really need advice about a boy who has been on my mind a lot lately.
There’s a boy at my school that I didn’t really notice last year, but this school year I started to pay attention to him.
On Halloween we were both at the same party and ended up talking a lot. I was pretty drunk, and he was really kind to me ( he brought me water and food and made sure I was okay). At one point we swapped parts of our costumes: he wore my animal ears and I wore his hat.
Later he thought I had given him the bunny ears, but I hadn’t. That night I sent him a voice message joking that he had “stolen” them. He said he thought they were a gift but that he would bring them back to school.
The following Monday we jokingly argued about them and he said he might never give them back. That night he sent me a picture of himself shirtless wearing my bunny ears. The next day he returned them, and they were very obviously sprayed with perfume the same scent he was wearing when I saw him later.
After that we snapped a little, mostly about school and books, but nothing really developed. At one point he reposted a video about “when the fine person at school finally notices you,” which made me wonder if it meant something. Around the same time he also reposted a video about girls making the first move.
We also went out together in a group and later walked around town with another friend. It was really fun, but I can’t tell if we actually have a connection or if it just felt that way because we were with friends.
At school we still say hi to each other in the halls. He’s complimented me twice once saying my outfit looked “tough” while kind of looking me up and down, and another time saying my band shirt was a “W.” He also liked two of my Instagram stories (a silly picture of me and one of my niece laughing)
The thing is, I can’t tell if he’s just being friendly or if there might be something there. I also sometimes feel insecure because I think he might like a girl in his own grade, but I’m not sure.
Do you think he might actually like me, or am I reading too much into things? And should I try making the first move or just leave it?
