I am considering applying to Keele for philosophy next year (I am in year 12). I've heard mixed things about the uni. My predicted is AAA. Because it is not RG, is it bad quality? What is the teaching like? Are all the other students bad quality/lazy? (Based on what people have said about it so far - is this a myth?) I am from a privileged background, do they hate people like me? Will I be surrounded by working class types who might mock my accent/upbringing/hobbies? Thanks.

It’s really good that you’re doing thorough research before making your decision. Keele University has a lot to offer, especially in philosophy, and many students find it to be a supportive and engaging place to study.
While it’s true that Keele isn’t part of the Russell Group, that doesn’t mean the quality of teaching or student experience is lacking. Many students appreciate the approachable staff and the community feel of the campus. The idea that all students are lazy or unmotivated is a myth like any university, student motivation varies, but Keele’s students are generally dedicated and passionate about their studies.
