ib subjects / a levels for a law degree

hi everyone!
im in year 11 and i've applied to some schools with the intention of studying law in a russel group uni

the a levels ive selected are :
politics
philosophy
english lit OR economics

the ib subjects ive selected are :
HL global politics, philosophy, spanish
SL english lit, maths, ESS

> i want to do economics as i don't enjoy english literature that much right now
> i want to swap SL ESS for spanish and HL spanish for computer science, it doesn't really have anything to do with law as a whole, but i 1. want to study cyber law later on in my life and 2. find it easy and enjoy it.

do any sixth formers/ law students have any advice for me? i'm not interested in a level/ib history btw, i didn't do it at GCSE so it wouldn't be smart for me to do it in sixth form.

Hey,
I’d say you have a good set of subjects if you want to study law. However, its important to note that there is rarely any subject requirements if you want to study law, so you are free to choose what you want.

Hey @kingsamantha,

Both of those subject combinations (either A-Levels or IB) look ideal for Law and provide a good foundation in essay-writing. A-Level Economics and English Literature are both essay-based so feel free to choose whichever subject appeals to you most - I studied both and probably found Econ the most engaging in the long run.

Best of luck with your GCSEs and hope you hear back from your schools soon!
Eve (Kingston Rep).
