Marital Status Change

Hi, I got married in December 2025, I am a September starter going into my 3rd and final year this September, so have received my September and January payments already. I was told to wait until my 2026/27 application to change my marital status, is this correct? Or should I complete the PFF2, I'm confused on if its going to affect my current entitlement.

Hi there. Has your applicaiton not already been supported by your partner before you got married? Thanks, Leah.

Hi Leah, no, it was supported by my parents.

Hi there,

If you're under 25 and get married during the academic year, we would still need your parent(s) to complete and return the PFF2. If you're going back into study next year, we would then use your partner's details.

Thanks,
Claire

Thank you for your helpful reply! Yes, I’m going back into study next academic year, and I’m 22. Is it okay that I already sent evidence to SFE, stating that I got married and showed proof via marriage certificate and letter declaring my marital status change? And then with the 26/27 application I’m assuming I put my spouse down instead of my parents.

That's correct. We'd use your partners details during the next academic year. If you've already had your parents support your 25/26 application and sent evidence confirming your marital status then we wouldn't require anything else for 25/26. Thanks, Jason
