Which uni should i pick between Bournemouth and Ravensbourne

I currently have an unconditional offer from Bournemouth (BU) for Film and TV Production and also an offer from Ravensbourne for Television Production (CCC which is achievable). I live in London so going to Ravensbourne would mean staying at home whereas a lot of my friends and my girlfriend are going away to uni. Ravensbourne also seems to lack social life as the Campus feels more like a college. Bournemouth however has this social life with lots of societies (Some that could help me build a portfolio) but would of course cost me a lot more money with accomidation, food etc. Which is the best course for getting into the TV production industry? Should i priortise the social life or money? and have other people who have moved away or stayed at home been happy with their options?

As someone who applied to both (im a 1st year) and has lots of friends from home who go to ravensbourne, its definitely a better option to come to bournemouth! Its a fresh start, everyone is so lovely especially on film & tv, the nightlife is really good and accoms are quite nice and fairly cheap compared to other unis. The course itself in my opinion is so much better equipped than my friends courses at ravensbourne. Also I literally survive off of £30 a week living in Dorchester so you will be fine either way!!

This is really useful thank you! Could you go into more detail on why you feel the course is better equipped, how they are finding ravensbourne (if possible) also how your first year has been and how much is TV production (muliple cameras, in the studio) and how much is film related.

Hiya, current BU student (4th year- I did a placement). I have lots of friends of the Film and TV production course who have graduated straight into jobs. The market for graduates seems really strong and they all seemed very satisfied with the course- Societies such as Nerve Media make it really easy to get experience without actually working. I moved 4 hours away from home to come to Bournemouth and i would say its very much worth it, there are food incentives around campus to help with the costs and a Asda/Lidl really close to the first year accommodations, I was in Purbeck in first year although i wouldn't say it particularly matters which accom you choose as you will end up mingling with everyone from going out, meeting people on your course/societies. If you have any other questions to ask i would be happy to answer but personally i would really recommend Bournemouth!
