Postgraduate Loan with Overpaid Undergraduate?

Hello :hello:
Last year I dropped out of nursing and enrolled in speech and language therapy, but chose to take a break in study a couple of weeks after the course began.
This means I was overpaid by a lot (£4621.19). If I applied for a postgraduate MSc, would the postgraduate loan be affected by the overpayment or since it was from an undergraduate course, or would it be added to my future repayments when earning above the threshold?
Thank you

Hi there,

What is the name of the course you're looking to study and is your previous application showing as 'withdrawn' on your account or are you looking to complete that degree? Thanks, Jason

I was looking into the online MSc part time Psychology conversion at BCU. My previous Undergraduate loan application is labelled as Suspended.

I was looking at withdrawing from the Undergraduate and applying to a Postgraduate but I am unsure whether the overpaid amount from the Undergraduate will be removed from the Postgraduate loan.

Hi sareily,

The overpayment from your previous undergraduate application won't be clawed back from a Postgraduate Loan as the are two different funding types. If you have withdrawn from the undergraduate course, we will need the university to confirm that through an electronic Change of Circumstances. If you have an outstanding overpayment and are not a returning undergraduate applicant, you need to call the number on your overpayment letter to set up a direct debit to repay what is owed.

Thanks, Clare
