Conservation Schools

Hi! I am an international student going into conservation of art. I have acceptances from City and Guilds of London Art School, the Courtauld, University of Lincoln, Cardiff, and Glasgow. I am most interested in the Courtauld, CGLAS, and Lincoln though. My mind is torn as to whether its better to study art history at a prestigious school like the Courtauld or if skipping straight to conservation work at CGLAS or Lincoln would be better. If anyone from any of these schools has something to say that might sway my decision please respond.

Your post isn't terribly clear. Do you mean you have an offer for BA History of Art at the Courtauld or do you mean you have an offer for MA Conservation of Easel Paintings or MA Conservation of Wall Paintings?

Sorry, BA History of Art at the Courtuald.

BA History of Art at the Courtauld is an excellent route into Conservation and, if you can afford to do both a BA History of Art and a postgraduate conservation degree (a further three years) then that is of course a complete and prestigious set of qualifications.
