Concorde - really sad that it doesn't fly anymore.

I like trains quite a lot and helicopters are very impressive.

Commercial planes. Why? They’re really, really, really, really, really safe! Yes, they give you safety manuals and teach you how to inflate your jackets and so on, but planes are engineered and tested to withstand freak weather conditions!
Plus, you’re more likely to be in a car crash than in a plane crash, and you’re more likely to survive plane crashes than car crashes.
Trains is the only correct answer - they are so classy. Specifically steam trains though. How are you telling me that Mallard, the fastest steam locomotive ever, could reach 126 mph?? Like, steam trains are just glorified kettles on wheels

Lots of good points here! I've always wanted to read more on how planes are engineered and tested... :curious:

Do you have a favourite train and helicopter?

My favourite train currently is the InterCity 225 (Class 91 locomotive, Mk 4 carriages and Driving Van Trailer). My favourite helicopter is the Leonardo AW169.

Planes! Obviously, we somehow managed to figure out how to get a metal hunk in the sky with so many people on it - that's highly impressive

Id love to say space shuttles/rockets, but I think there are more impressive transport methods. I just can't quite put my finger on what they are yet :frown:

A raft! why a raft? I am impressive how people are courageous enough to cross the ocean with such a simple means of transport. News reported about people who travelled from Europe to South America with a raft.

I have changed my mind about my favourite helicopter (remembered). It is the MD900/MD902 Explorer because it doesn't have tail rotor and was used in this country by air ambulances for 24 years (only retired in 2024!)

Surprised not many more people discuss the tube on here! Loved learning about it at the transport museum and the history of each line.

The most impressive thing about trains are their tardiness and the regularity in which this happens.
