Daily Drop In: Weekend Plans

Poll

What are your plans for the weekend?

March is a strange month - some places being battered by storms and others experiencing glorious spring sunshine. Exams are on the horizon, but not here yet.

With all of the above in mind, as we head towards the end of Thursday, and into Friday, what are your plans for this weekend?

(Multiple choices allowed on this one!)

I will be spending most of my time inside I would guess but I am going to one of my closest friend's 21st birthday party.

I'm probably staying in, might take a walk though
The weathers either been lovely and sunny or cloudy as it was today (windy too)

Might try finish one of my books and catch up on homework.

What about you?

Busy weekend, I'll be going to a caf to get some work done and will be meeting up with friends. Hoping to get a trail run since I am aiming for a half marathon by summer but I'm a bit worried about literaly getting blown away...

@flowersinmyhair wish a happy birthday to your friend from me 🥳

Oh sorry

I am working tomorrow (boo!) and Sunday (boo!)

I'm also going to a Pilates and yoga class on Saturday morning and then brunch with a friend, and my Uncle's birthday party on Saturday evening. I'm naturally introverted so that's a lot of socialising for me!

A half marathon is impressive - hope you get there. We've struggled with flash floods here in the past 24 hours. March weather is always challenging!

Saturday I will start packing for my trip abroad next week! (I don't travel 'til Weds but I get nervous leaving packing to the last minute :colondollar: ) Then Sunday, I'm taking Mummy TLG out for Sri Lankan-style afternoon tea, and then to see the Elvis Presley in Concert film at the cinema :h:

I'm currently trying to get through the city and its uncertain walls. It's honestly not a good book, and I believe whoever claims it's a literary masterpiece is doing so to look more academic. It's been a struggle but I'm almost half way through.

I'm also reading 1984 which is MUCH better

Thanks! I'm presenting at an academic conference in a place called Nancy. I'd never heard of it but it's in eastern France (near Strasbourg/the German border). It's essentially quiche lorraine land :teeth:

Thanks! I'm excited by the conference and networking opportunities. I'm travelling with a friend, so it'll be a nice mini break. We're spending half a day in Paris on our way back from Nancy to London :pierre:

I am a little nervous though as I've had a bad cough/hoarse voice. My presentation is a week today, so hopefully there's time to get better and talk for 20 mins straight during my presentation :eek2:

That's super cool!

Oooooooo

Oh dear, have some hot herbal tea regularly and it should fix up your voice!
Hopefully it'll be fine before your presentation :o:
