SFE England application after Canadian working holiday visa

I am looking to study as an under graduate in 2026 September at the university of Salford. I have been on a working holiday visa in Canada from 24th August 2024 - February 10th 2026 and returning for 4 months April 21st - August 23rd to finish off my visa. I plan on applying for Student finance England to get support with my studies, I have a copy of my working holiday visa to show it’s temporary nature, I originally closed my monzo account when leaving to Canada and began using wise for ease with international banking but recently reopened a monzo account. The nature of my travel was temporary for travel and exploration purposes but I am concerned about how this works with SFEs ordinary residences rule

The evidence I have to submit is:

A copy of my working holiday visa

I will be going to my GP to get a letter stating that I remained registered throughout my time abroad

A copy of my GBP wise bank statements during my time in Canada showing active subscriptions such as Apple Music etc coming out monthly in GBP as well as a brief 2 week trip back in April 2025.

A receipt of some personal items worth £100 which I shipped to my UK address as opposed to my Canadian one

A letter from my parents.

Is this sufficient and will returning from
April - August impact anything?

Thanks

Hi there,

In case you didn't know, the 2026/27 applications will open on the 23rd of March. We'd recommend logging in and applying as soon as possible: https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-register-login

The evidence you have sounds acceptable yes: it sounds like your time abroad was temporary in nature. Once you apply and submit your evidence our team will be in touch. If the assessors need anything else at all they'll e-mail you, rest assured.

Thanks, Graeme
