Need help choosing

I got offers for computer science at st Andrews and electronic and software engineering at glasgow.
I'm a very quiet guy and don't exactly enjoy drinking but do love meeting friends. I'm from a very rural part of Scotland and would play football at uni.
I'm looking how to meet like-minded people in similar situations. I also feel kinda worried about moving away to uni.
If anyone has knowledge or experience attending either of these universities, or is enrolled in those or similar courses, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
