really? i thought everyone would ! the year 1 content is miles better than the year 2 content it is way more fun tolearn and when revising you realise how much easier the year 1 content was and every topic was actually fun unlike unit 7 and 8 in paper 2 and paper 3 is just a mix which i dont know how to feel and and the eassy is a torture tbh

i think it’s also nice because both our mocks were on paper 1 content so it feels more familiar to revise whilst paper 2 and the essay still seems foreign to me 🥲

if anyone has any advice for the essay that would be great

Hey I've been looking for free resources for revision and I found this one which is a sample and I love it...I was wondering has anyone bought the actual Week 1 revision resource? I want to know if it's any good? SAMPLE Ultimate AQA A Level Biology Revision 6 Week Booster | Teaching Resources its like a 6 week revision booster and its got 4 30min revision sessions in it then a plan for an essay and links to paper 1 to practice. I really like it because it literally tells me what to do in each session!!

Probably very generic advice but learn those long biological processes inside and out, We're talking like respiration, photosynthesis, muscle contraction etc... I like to draw them all out on a big whiteboard to visualise everything

I defo agree. Like honestly paper 3 should be called "the read what's on my mind paper" bcs genuinely why was I doing a paper and one of mark points for an evaluation question was IT IS GOOD FOR TOURISM. Like how is that biology related

is it normal to still be memorising content?

I think so. I only finished learning topic 8 stuff a few weeks ago so I'm still trying to memorise content. Just make sure you are doing PPQs along side memorising content and interleaving your revision

This paper is probably like my worst bio paper tbh, I much prefer paper 2. I feel like most of the Y13 topics are just processes that I need to memorise and I love the essay in paper 3 though! Also i don't know anyone that genuinely likes biodiversity or gene expression

Yeah, i agrree with you Paper 1 is the easier paper. Especially topic 1, i love the biological molecules

Can't lie, paper 1 might be my worst. Things like immune response, mass transport, and gas exchange, while interesting, aren't things I'm great at memorising because it's a bunch of small topics with minimal direct links. Whereas on paper 2, stuff like photosynthesis, respiration, and sliding filament theory are pretty chunky topics that flow nicely, and for me at least that makes it far easier to remember (and I also find them much more interesting than most of year 1 content, as a chem nerd).

Though, paper 3 is pretty bad too. I don't actually mind the essay that much anymore even if it's a pain to time it properly, but some of the questions are just straight up weird.

yea i can see why you would like paper 2 dont get me worng i love that paper too, but yay if you read the spec for paper 3 content you see why no one likes it because it is most comprehension and long questions that most people dont like,

ALSO I FOUND OUT EVERY EXAM BOARD HAD THE CHOICE BETWEEN MULTIPLE CHOICE OR EASSAY IN PAPER 3 AND AQA WHERE THE ONLY ONES NOT TO PICK MULTIPLE CHOICE, like why ? like it would make so much sense, in alevel chem for aqa it is multiple choice and i like that a lot because i am able to get like 26/30 on the multiple choice but essay is so dependent on how well you understand the question and if your able to come up with enough topics and if by random luck you have outside knowledge on that topic i actually hate it so much, most people who take bio and stuff are like students i am not being picky , dont like long writing answer questions that why we like science.
