Part-time Access for RVC London

I live in Golders Green (max 40 mins travel). I want Vet Med at RVC and need an Access to HE Diploma in Science (Chem/Bio). I work full time in a restaurant but can study part time (day or evening). Any London college recommendations that are accepted for vet/medicine-style Access? How many taught hours per week did you have, and how did you balance shifts + studying? 😊

Hi! I got all 4 university offers including RVC by studying an access to HE course! I did mine through Activate Learning, it’s completely online and I did the course over 1 year rather than 2. One thing I will mention is you need 100% distinction in all graded biology and chemistry credits to get into RVC, so you really need to work hard to ensure you ace every assignment - there are no resubmissions if you get a merit rather than distinction. RVC did only ask for merit in my other subject which was psychology, but I got full distinctions there too which I had already achieved at the time of submitting my application, so I’m not sure if presenting with those high grades helped at all in securing an interview. I think they said they expected you to be able to complete around 20 hours a week studying, but depending on how effective you are with your time writing and researching, some assignments will take way less weekly hours. There was just 1 lecture per assignment, and depending on the assignment we had between 2-4 weeks to complete each one. I never attended the lectures live as I was usually driving back from work at that time, but they’re all recorded so I would just watch it in the gym or something whenever I had time haha. If you’re motivated enough to study at home, I’d recommend it as it will be so much easier to balance with work rather than an in-person course! Best of luck!
