Restarting my Midwifery training - exempt course funding

I have a previous BA (Hons) in Dance which I graduated from in 2009. I began a pre reg MSc in Midwifery in 2021, dropping to the BSc level for my second year (through choice, after taking a year out) in 2023. I left half way through this second year of study. So I have had full funding for my first degree, plus two years of undergraduate funding for my Midwifery course. Due to the credits I achieved doing Midwifery I was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare but obviously am not qualified or registered to perform any kind of healthcare role.

If I was to reapply for Midwifery would I be eligible for any financial support?

Would I be eligible for full support for other exempt courses such as nursing or other allied profession courses?

With having two years of an exempt course already I wasn't sure.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Yes, because Midwifery is an exception course you'll be entitled to funding from us regardless of your previous study.

Do you know when you'd like to start studying again?

Thanks, Graeme

Thank you Graeme.

Can I confirm that this is still the case if it is same uni and course I previously withdrew from?

I need to approach the uni still, to see if they would consider an application after previously leaving. My intention would be to possibly start in September 26 if spaces were available and I was successful. Or otherwise applying for a September 2027 start (however I am aware that LLE is coming in so not sure what that means for exempt courses).

Hi there, yes - if you are studying an exception course then you'd be eligible for the funding even if it's the same university. Thanks, Jason
