Mature students

Hi I have been accepted to study medicine this September 2026. I'm 34. Any other mature students out there? Or current mature students - has it been easy to find other older people? I'll be relocating from Bristol so will need to make new friends but self conscious that I might be the oldest one on my course.

Also looking to link up with other mature students to find a house share/spare room!

Hey I’m a mature student at Keele and the oldest in my year (but not whole course because there’s someone way older than me) however, I don’t do a medical course. I also lived in Bristol for a year before coming back to the midlands to go to Keele. (You will miss Bristol in comparison honestly! Because I do and I can’t wait to go back to visit).

But it’s not bad being the eldest because you always find someone around/close to in age to talk to. But I’d definitely say if you have the time join a society and don’t be afraid to talk to people. A few years ago I’m sure the eldest person who was out partying and a student was in his 70s. So you’ll be perfectly fine. We’re all here for a reason so do you. Sending hugs (not creepy ones)
