IGCSE Edexcel Computer Science 20 marker

Hello!
Does anyone have any tips or notes on how to answer the 20 marker coding question at then end of paper 2? I understand that you should break it down into smaller components and work piece by piece but sometimes they are really weird and I just have no idea where to start, especially when it involves functions and making new lists to add answers too and all of that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

But I was confused on what you meant by 'exemplar papers' and assumed these were completed past papers done by actual candidates in their own IGCSE exam. I have attempted many past papers already but the 20 marker always stumped me because I get confused on where to start coding and just in general. Thank you so much though!
