Irish National Eligible for Postgraduate Funding?

I am an Irish national who is ordinarily resident in Ireland and have not previously lived in the UK. I have a place to take on a master's programme in England. Would I be eligible for the postgraduate loan even though I have not been resident in England for the previous 3 years (or at all)?

I presume not, but wanted to double-check here.

Hi bbb321!,

You would need to be in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course. If you meet that criteria, it should fall under the same criteria as EU nationals.

Thanks, Clare

Hi Clare,

To be sure, as long as I am in the UK at least by the first day of the first academic year of the course, I would likely be eligible for the loan as an EU national?

Thanks

Yes, that's correct.
