SFE application approved

My daughter's application now says 'approved', and her account shows the amounts she will receive, but it says 'reviewing evidence'. Does 'approved' mean she will definitely get the finance?

Approved means that payment should be scheduled. If you get her to check the letters/emails section of her online account, it should have her entitlement letter there that will confirm the Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan amounts with the payment dates.

Yes, another question, about NI number. My daughter has never lived in the UK so does not have one. The online service states that it cannot be used for student loan purposes. So how does she get one? (Her finance will not be paid until she has one).

Hi there,

We will check with The Department for Works and pensions (DWP) if she has one. If she doesn't have one, she will receive a SMS/letter to advise how to apply for one through the DWP system. Once she is given one, she can then upload a copy of the letter on her online account for us to update.
