Using two slits the fringes are close to one another and u get a continuous pattern of bright - dark -bright-etc concetrated on the center of the screen . It is easy to calculated the fringe separation using a small ruler on the screen.

Using a difraction grating the bright fringes are much brighter and they are seperated from one another a long distance.
u can use the formula λκ = d sin(theta) to find the positions of the kth bright fringe.

Fringes may occur even at 90 degrees from u (instead of right ahead of u).

We tried those two in the laboratory and its pretty facinating
