Freegans - surely this isn't right??

I think the standards for food trading just need to be relaxed. You can't blame supermarkets for throwing so much good stuff away when people are so ready to sue if the food they eat is bad.
Freeganism is fine I do it regularly.. not as often as id like though, need to do it more. I buy things I need though and no way do i do it to that level (or do it for religious reasons!!).

Hey just watchin an old episode of wife swap and one of the families are freegans. Now i dont fully understand what they are but from what Im seeing it isn't right.

The freegans in this program basically live in a mobile home, and scrounge for food from supermarket bins each night, the woman just said that jesus says you should sell all u have and give it to the poor. they dont pay any tax any national insurance etc etc but would use the nhs if they got ill. the poor son of this couple is embarrassed to tell anyone at school where he lives etc.

surely this isnt right?

just wondering if anyone knew anyone who believes in this?

or just what peoples opinions etc

Contrast this with supermarkets throwing away tons of perfectly good food whilst people in this country are living in poverty.

Now, which sounds worse?
