Yeah the chances of an offer now are much lower, but until you get Track updated to say your application was unsuccessful, or a letter from the college to say the same, there's still a chance of an offer.

The chances arent lower as the decisions were made before today most of them. Some colleges are most formal and post them but most have been dealing with interviews up to now. So dont worry. Life is too short to worry bout everything. Tbh im not want to talk, but looking at these threads do nothing to help us actually getting in and if anything make us more paranoid.

There has not been that many offers given out so far, so there is still time.

If the file has been returned to your original college, can it still be taken out by another college if, for example, a candidate being re-interviewed for your subject does badly and gets rejected?
I've given up now.
I'd like some offers from other unis now.

I can still be a barrister if I go to the other unis. I hope

I can still succeed in life without going to Cambridge! I can! You'll see!

Haha, sorry, not poking fun at you, just struck me as a bit funny, how people who do badly at school and get into not-so-great universities (I'd never say any of them are bad) get applauded for it, whilst those that are good enough to go to the top ten or so but don't get in are sort of hastily brushed under the rug.

I'd just like to be taken behind the chemical sheds and shot now.
Hmmm...just found out from Track that my application was unsuccessful..disappointed, but at least I can say that I made it this far

Oh, I thought for a minute that everyone was commenting on how sad (pathetic sad not sorrowful sad) my life was. Should of known that this place hasn't got any judgemental people in it. :o:

We could start up a "I was pooled for Cambridge and quite frankly feel violated by the entire process" thread and whine on forever about it. To hell with closure!

Shanny123456, what subject are you applying to do? I do get on with people of different subjects, of course, only Mathematical people tend to frighten me and invoke a sort of reverential awe in me towards them, as I am a simpleton when it comes to objective, logical thoughts....

I'm applying for Economics. It's kinda applied Maths, tbh pure Maths people scare me too (you've got a be a bit of a nutter/genious to do pure maths). Lol, I thought philosophy is very logical isn't it (or is it more abstract-logical?)

The pool info sheet gave these stats for last year:

548 pooled applicants were re-interviewed, and out of these 285 received offers.

That means that roughly only half of the people re-interviewed got an offer. The rest of the places had to be filled from the pool, and they'd have to get these people from those left pooled after the interviews were over.

But, will those people include those who have their college on their SAQ still? Does it mean my file has been returned to Pembroke, or that it is still floating around somewhere?

Perhaps, although you're making some assumptions. Lets say hypothetically there were only 285 places left at this stage?

Money, maths, its all the same, I learnt Maths primarily to realise just how much of a reckless spender I am. "So if I buy that, you take that of me....neat."

Yes but Philosophy logic is about ideas, and although I know Maths does in an abstract way cover ideas like eternity, truth, proof, etc, its like applying logic to numbers and oh its painful to me.

My stepfather would love you though, he's an accountant.

Ok so I've just been looking at the winter pool information sheet, and I studied the timetable a little harder. Correct me if I'm wrong but,

THIS COULD TAKE UNTIL THE 31ST !!!

Putting aside all the other implications for the pooled applicants (such as how much our chances decrease as the days, or rather seconds, go by), does that mean we're going to collectively commit a running commentry on this highly addictive thread until then?

WOW.

BUMP. man this thread is moving at a serious pace haha

Nobody knows for sure what the SAQ updates really mean. It doesn't look like there have been very many pool offers over the last couple of days (at least not posted on here), so it seems that it might all be on hold now until the interviews are done.

I expect that files go back to the college so the directors of study can see who's left in the pool, so they can fill up these last few places with the most suitable people.

I think it basically means that either in some rare cases you've been fished by your original college or you've been rejected, as your file is now at that college.
All this speculation is a bad idea - and not that it's our fault, I think that Cambridge should have stopped all access to the saq by everyone after the interviews were over :yep:

Is anyone else getting a headache from thinking, "Am I one of these [how many places left]? Am I good enough to be one?"

Of course the "good" there is nonsensical.....

LOL, I'm just crapping myself right now, hoping a rejection does not come yet as it has to other people e.g. on track! I want it to drag on for as long as possible - just in the hope of 'something'.
I'm new to this very long thread...!
Just wondering if anyone was in the same situation as me -

Pooled by my original college, St John's, and then got a call from Churchill offering me a place on Monday - YAY!
Haven't got an offer in writing yet, and my saq is no longer 'inactive' as it was for a bit, but now I can log in, the college is still St John's...
