I still don't know (or can't work out, take your pick) if there are more people who get in after getting re-interviewed or more people who get offered a place without being re-interviewed.

To be the honest the worst part is not the rejection, its the waiting around.

I was thinking... this saq stuff probably has nothing to do with who's looking at your files or what not. The files are paper folders... i saw mine at my interview. Im sure they print off your saq answers same as they do with your ucas answers so why would they need the online version?

I was hoping something along the same lines, although thinking back to my first interview, I do remember my interviewer pointed at a piece of paper she was holding when she asked me questions about my personal statement, so they do obviously have paper copies of all your forms.

Also, it might be slightly less manic in controlling a paper pool than a digital pool
They print it off as;

Reading paper is generally nicer than reading off the pc, and choosing applicants is generally something they will want to be able to take their time over. It's nicer to sit on a sofa and flick through the applicants than read at the pc for example.

Having paper is going to be much more personal in an interview than using a laptop, or pc, and often that is impractical anyway.
So in effect the SAQ thing could mean absolutely nothing?

Yup.
I think it indicates something such as college that last read/had control of your application. And while it may have a reasonable correlation with rejections/acceptions it is not always right.

Yup.

Anyone think they might be hearing (either way) tomorrow?

I sure hope so.

By the end of January, at the very least. :p:

It went on till then I might get so angry I'd be very tempted to reject them even if after all that they gave me an offer (which they won't), but of course I never would.

Well presumably 99% of those who are going to get offers will get them fairly early (read: By mid-January, probably) and then a few might get some later. For example, three years ago a girl in my school was originally pooled, then rejected, but late in January she received a call offering her a place.

Some people will find out about rejections earlyish, depending on the college. Fitzwilliam wrote in their letter I'd find out for definite some time mid-January, I think.
God, I dont know how some of you guys do it - I've seen that LH123 and ItsLikeThat have been on here continuously for the last couple of hours!
I have to go away for a couple of hours or else I feel like I'm going insane.

I really don't want to check Track just incase there is a big fat 'UNSUCCESSFUL' waiting for me.

Hey maybe, when I get my rejection, I can sue Cambridge for damages made to my mental health due to the pooling process... and then the reparations could be in the form of an offer

I am doing other things-reading some Orwell to distract myself, but I value this place for its supportive network of friendly people. I'll sue them too, shall we split the money?

Hows about we go 70:30 on it
Now Orwell is definitely a distraction, may I ask which novel of his you are reading?
Whereas places like Jesus write to you at the end of January to finally reject you properly.

A Clergyman's Daughter, one of his nearly unknown ones. Obviously read Animal Farm and 1984 yonks ago, still love them.

What authors do you like, may I ask?

Yes I did my A2 EngLit coursework on 1984 and I rather enjoyed it
I like too many authors and too many books to name them all but I like my classics - Austen, Hardy, Wilde (what can I say I'm an English student!) and some more modern ones.
I tend to enjoy the more surreal/weirder ones - I loved Perfume and I am reading The Resurrectioninst right now, I want to see what all the hype is about!
What about you?
