Well for the past 4 years, in NatSci at least, there haven't been any offers to people being pooled from Homerton at all :frown:

personally, i don't rate my chances  . i've applied for theology, and homerton seems to accept the most from the winter pool for tht subject out of all colleges. looks bad, very bad :frown:

I really doubt all these statistics really mean much in the end though, if you did extremely well in relation to the competition and you deserve to get in, I'm sure you will, if not then I suppose it just wasn't mean to be. The same goes for me tbh and all other pooled applicants.
I've just found some stats that are making me feel slightly better...
Last year of 106 NatSci applicants at Emmanuel, only 26 got offers...and 15 got offers from other colleges after the pool. Chances are I won't be in the equivalent of those 15, but...yeah. Not getting an offer straight away doesn't seem so bad now. And the stats were similar for previous years, so...I'm guessing the same applies this year.

Yep your prospects seem decent. Churchill usually has very low numbers of people being made offers from pooling so... oh wellllllllll

Hi was just pooled and wondered about when they will ring up (if they are going to). The letter said the 4th to the 7th selected applicants can be invited by telephone for second interviews. Does this mean that tomorrow (on a sunday) the admission tutors may ring up and either make an offer or invite you for an interview? Just wondering because its a sunday and they might not bother until the monday

I have been pooled, and so have 9 of my friends, and 2 rejected, all for engineering!

When i say friends, i mean people on my headstart course, who are all pretty clever. You would have thought at least 1 of us would get in =p.

Seems pretty strange that so many people are being pooled for engineering, unless you people with offers want to wave at me! ;P

It is entirely dependent on my year really and their quality.

In 2005 12 applied, 4 received offers and 6 got offers by other colleges (so only 2 rejected).

2006 - 11 applied, 4 got offers, 2 got in from other colleges. Other years, nobody got offers from other colleges.

So, hope I've got a good year.
I have been pooled for philosophy by Sidney Sussex....is it simply just a question of waiting now???

When did we ever submit a phone number...?

Yes, pretty much. So, if we do not hear from a college by Wednesday does it mean we have either been rejected or simply given an offer by another college?

Everyone who applied will have been "pretty clever" too, and there will have been a lot of them - that's how admissions go at Cambridge, I'm afraid. Try not to take it too personally.

I think if you haven't heard from a college by the pool interviews you're unlikely to be given an offer?

My letter says that you may get called to interview between now and the 7th or 8th. Straight offers without interview are apparently given between the 5th and 10th. So after about the 12th if we havent heard anything I think our chances are reduced...we can still hope though.

I wonder if straight offers are done by phone or letter?
Guys - it's after 5pm!

I think I read somewhere that your original college send you a letter? If I get a straight offer, I sure want a letter. I always ignore my house phone, always damn business calls for my dad!
