I am no longer in the pool- rejection.
I'm fine with it. I think the really heavy workload at Cambridge wouldn't have suited me, so their decision was a good one. I'm shocked I even got in the pool in the first place, after saying that yeast was a bacteria at interview  I'm just sad I'll be missing out on May Balls, Gowns at dinner and pennying :p:
Good luck to anyone still in the pool!

I'm really sorry to hear that - but it's good to know that you're not too hung up about it - definitely the right way to feel when one puts things into perspective. I think people have a tendency to look at the admissions procedure in a really irrational way (myself included). Good luck.

Awww, ah well. I'm starting to feel the same, to be honest...Nat Sci is a VERY intense course, I've heard, which might not suit me (though it does sound brilliant!). You have your other choices anyway, which are all great (yay Trevs at Durham  and Bath!). have you heard from Durham yet?

Nope, not a peep since being acknowledged! They are taking their time. I was surprised to see that the offer they made you was 2As and a B- I thought it was a AAA course! They must really want you :p: And well done on all your other offers

guys, how do you find out how many people each college placed in the winter pool last year?

I would also like to know how I may procure this information.

Awww, ah well, hopefully you'll hear soon . And yeah, I was surprised too! Probably more surprised about that than the actual offer lol...I really was expecting AAA! Maybe they'll offer you the same! And thanks, well done for yours too !

As for the pool stats...http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/statistics/

CLick on the individual colleges/courses there, and it says, breaking it down into colleges/courses. Like, if you click on a college one, it has the stats for each course. Hope that helps .

they have statistics for those who were accepted after having been placed into the winter pool... i was wondering whether they have numbers for people who were put into the pool from each college. not those who were successful.

Most of the pool letters had information about how many had been placed in the pool in total but not numbers from each college.
Cambridge don't publish the numbers of people who are pooled by college and subject; they only publish the total number of people who are pooled, and the numbers who actually got offers through the pool process. It's not clear where people who are pooled and taken back by the same college get counted in the college/subject stats.
Well after a week of anxiety, I've finally been rejected by Trinity College to read Anglo-Saxon. I was expecting it from Tuesday onwards, so it wasn't really devastating when it arrived on Saturday. I knew the place was only good for homosexual KGB spies!
Now I just hope that either St Andrews or Durham will take me.

Sorry to hear it, Anglo-Saxon sounds interesting.

 Very funny.

I hope they do too.

When I pressed that I was still locked out of my SAQ, even with the new password. :frown:

Oh? Then maybe it's good news? My parents keep saying "No news is good news" but I've drowned :frown:

Good luck!

Good luck for today guys/girls!
So we are waiting to see who gets letters in the post today...
Got my rejection letter from Churchill on Saturday.
Knew it had to be a rejection because it was a thin white letter like the one I got for pooling. =(

Are the offers letters different then?

I assume so. I figured it would have to be more than one piece of paper as they have to give you info like your offer grades, accomodation etc.

What if your SAQ still says a new college?

Good Luck all!

Some people received their offers in small envelopes containing only two sheets of paper, others got A4 envelopes.

The only way to tell is to open it.
