Do you guys think its a little arrogant to ask for feedback? I don't want to come across like I am outraged by the rejection, its understandable.

In my letter it said that they would be sending feedback to my head of school, but I think if you'd prefer it to come directly to you, you can ask.

You're school is suppose to request feedback from interviews anyway... so you could ask cambridge themselves or ask your sixth form office.

Most colleges send it automatically . I think some places you can ask whether it might be a good idea to apply next year too.
In some instances its obvious from the feedback whether you should bother applying next year or not.
Hi,

Got re-interviewed by Fitzwilliam on Sat. Now I can login to my SAQ and it says undergraduate pool. Am I right in thinking that this doesn't mean anything either way.

Thanks
Had interviews at 2 new colleges, couldn't previously log into SAQ, and now its says "Undergraduate Pool", this seems to be the general trend i'm guessing..

i think so, it seems that most of the re-interviewed people (including me) have changed to undergraduate pool.

SNAP! I'm hoping it means nothing. Anyway I think they said we should know by the end of the week. Don't know whether it will be by email or post so I keep checking both

Yeah Fitz said they would be phoning on Friday. Don't know how other colleges do it.
Thanks for all the everyone!
I will ask my higher education adviser to ask for feedback!

Thank you!

Is that for all subjects? Did they say that in the interview or at the admissions office because I was also at Fitz on saturday but they just told me I'd hear from them sometime this week. I really hope I'm not waiting until friday!

Don't know if it is for all. Yeah Gill at the admissions office told me as I left. Were you there between 10 - 10.30, might have met you. The wait is agonising at the moment.

One of my teachers told our class today at school about the feedback they got from Cambridge. He said that the main area of concern was that the your best 3 subjects should be above 90% to have a realistic chance of getting in. Most of you probably knew that already, but i'm just passing on some feedback.

There must have been other factors, but I think my teacher was emphasising that that was the main drawback this year for our school as to why only 1 person got an offer (previous years about 20).

I know someone who got in for geography with 242/300 UMS at AS (in geography, obviously). That's just 80%. Plus there other grades were not brilliant, either.

But for the more competitive courses (sorry i'm just making assumptions here- i'm sure Geography is competitive as well), you may need above 90% or you might not make the short list.

No need to apologise, geography is not that competitive a course generally, although of course all are at Cambridge. The competitivity also varies dramatically between colleges, at least for geography, as the one she applied to has for several years admitted all applicants. :dontknow:

Well, I'm sure this is going to sound awful. But, I get annoyed when I see people with a few A*'s and poor AS UMS and grades get in for something like Maths at Homerton whilst I get rejected for Arch and Anth at Pembroke. I know how bad that must sound, but I feel slightly cheated sometimes. Sorry...:sigh:

Hey, I feel slight cheated and I do only have a few A*s and poor AS UMS (other than physics) so you are definitely entitled to .

LOL. I think everyone in the pool who has decent grades (which is well over half), should have been given an offer. If only Cambridge had another few colleges, eh? Perhaps they will have to one day!
