Rejection after reinterview.
Reply 3361
Hey, I've just joined... better late than never! Was re-interviewed by Robinson College for Law last week, and am still waiting. Going completely mad. Please advise.....

Ps. My SAQ now says "Robinson College" rather than my original college... is that a good sign?
Still in the pool as well :frown:

I don't know if it's a good sign or not, but my friend got his offer letter from Robinson yesterday so you are definitely still in with a change . And an even better one if you were reinterviewed I would think

Thanks Both of you! Trying not to get to caught up in the whole SAQ Theory and the like... but it's difficult when you hear virtually nothing from anyone else.... sigh

My UCAS updated exactly an hour ago. 'Unsuccessful'. A large part of me just wants to die now that it's absolutely official.

I am hoping it's good because mine says that too!

I think someone mentioned a couple of days ago that usually it is a sign that means you're already logged in on another computer or last time you logged in you didn't properly log out.

I know what you mean, don't worry.
Today I started weeping in form time and then during a lesson and spent the whole day being taken aside by teachers. Possibly the most embarrassing day of my entire academic career!

Try to think about it in perspective - in six months none of this will matter any more.

Aww no! I was like that yesterday. In registration when I was telling my friends I just burst out crying seeing their reactions, my form tutor was just watching and looking incredibly sorry for me. After I had Maths she was outside waiting to make sure I was okay, I'm never emotional at school so I think she was kinda concerned! Some of my other teachers kept whispering 'Are you okay?' across the room as I wept. Are you goint to reapply? I want to go to Uni so bad and I know I'll have a better time at Imperial. It's just I really had my heart set on Cambridge and the course and the place, especially after spending part of my summer working there, so I'm not sure I will anymore.

Oh no :frown:. I think being pooled has made the feeling of rejection so much worse because we all feel as if there's some hope and then... bam.

I think I'm going to reapply but I haven't completely decided. The thing is at this moment I don't have any offers... so I may have to! On the other hand I know it will be extremely difficult financially for my family if I do, even if I get a job and support myself as much as I can.

I know what you mean about having your heart set on Cambridge... My entire family has gone to Oxford for generations and because of that I've spent most of my life set on going to either Oxford or Cambridge - I used to cry on the way to school worrying what would happen if I didn't know the answers at interview in year two, and for years had 'No study no Oxford dream' (yeah, I know I applied to Cambridge in the end!) all around my room with one letter per A4 page instead of posters.... etc etc The expectation has been massive, and now I'm startled by my own arrogance over it.

However, maybe this has happened for a reason. I think it's good for me personally, to have been forced to break away from this absolute obsession. Or to put things in perspective anyhow.
So I am trying to stay positive about all this.

And you have Imperial! That's a massive achievement in itself! I go to a school where 30 percent of my year apply for medicine or dentistry and about 40 percent more apply for sciences... and they are all praying for Imperial offers! So... damn, man! That's a pretty great offer in itself!
