Wait, I just read pooling interviews take place no later than the 10th of January. How are we to make the proper travel arrangements if we get our letter only the 5th, if not later?

well if travelling is a real issue, there is something saying that they will be slightly flexible with the dates (possibly up til 12th). but otherwise, they will tell you with enough time i suspect. they dont want to deter u, the fact that they are interviewing you is because they want u

International applicants don't get more interviews.

Oh so if we get pooled, our chances will be based on our academic results then...

Plus comments from your first interviewer(s).

I *think* they try not to reinterview international applicants...Not sure though..

My letter said that International Applicants aren't reinterviewed
Pooled by Christ's for French and Spanish.

My friend got pooled at Cambridge (Downings) for Russian
She has 11A*s at GCSE and 1 A
5 As at AS (all roughly 90%)
Is predicted 4 As
Reply 366
what is this autopool thing?
people are saying with 7+ A*s or 3 AS levels at >90% you are autopooled, but i know people who meet these criteria and have been outright rejected

I'm unsubscribing from this thread now! It's making me depressed! So I'm going to move on and stop moping lol
Good luck everyone (although I probably won't be able to resist coming on here to see who gets offers and so will see who is successful)

Anyways, felt the need to annouce than. Bye bye Cambridge
Do they auto-pool IB Candidates/ candidates w/o GCSEs or AS levels?
Reply 376
People don't get auto-pooled unless they have 7A*'s at GCSE (or equivalent, I guess), 90%+ in all modules at AS.

Anyone saying anything else is guessing/wrong.
God, I just wish I knew which category I was in!
I haven't been able to revise properly for modules because I've been waiting for this letter....Now there's more waitingggggg

i have 3 friends who have 10A*s and 90% + in all module yet were rejected - so clearly were not put in auto pool

All applicants in this round (except those for Medicine) who are not offered places by their preference
Colleges but have attained both 7A*s or more at GCSE and 90% or more in each of their three
best/most relevant (i.e. where the subject at a particular College has subject preferences at A/AS level)
AS Level subjects MUST be pooled in category P if not in another category.

I have no idea what happened to your 3 friends...
