uh i'm in the pool too.... VERY annoying as I was hoping to put Cambridge behind me before term starts (my interviews went SO BADLY it was actually embarassing to sit in that room!)
8a* for GCSE and VERY LOW AS grades... surely the AS grades won't mean auto-pool though, they were very poor.... ah i'm just trying to make self feel better!
very annoying as now i'll have to hunt down all my interview preparation notes again... just in case!
Ok, so is it just me who's imagining an actual physical pool filled with files and folders, Directors of Studies and Admissions Tutors sitting round the side (poolside meeting) casting lines into the pool (fishing)?

I imagine all the admissions tutors sitting round big tables (one for each department) with a big pile of folders. Or, maybe, several tables. One central one, one for rejects, and then one for each college.
But I prefer the image of the actual pool =). Maybe they all jet off to the bahamas or something, looking at our files while relaxing by the pool...
Oh, and going back to family...my dad's had a kinda disappointed look on his face all day . He was more worried about the results than I was =). I think he really wants me to get accepted...mum, however, is more like "ah well, still a chance, and Durham's also great" kinda thing.

Since it's a winter pool, I envision the pool to have a layer of ice covering it, with the tutors deliberating nonchalantly while the poolees hit the ice ceiling frantically, shivering.
6. Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and PR China: all applicants who scored 8 or above when interviewed by the Cambridge team overseas MUST be pooled, and 7s at your discretion. Failure to pool an outstanding applicant in a previous year had serious repercussions.
