The "I've been pooled" thread

Thing is, surely Murray Edwards, Homerton and Jesus won't have given out all their interview invitations yet? Most of them will start tomorrow surely?

I applied to study maths at Churchill, got pooled, and (this morning) got an offer from Homerton.

Now for the hard part: actually getting my predicted grades

I imagine they've given out most though if not all. And Jesus...well I doubt they'll be giving many interview invitations out at all


Omg that happened to me. I couldn't stop shaking for more than 10 minutes. I hate this. Especially as I had my interviews way back in November...this has been such a long waiting process for me

okey dokey, time to depress myself and all the medics out there!

22 ppl were pooled in 07-08 last year,
which means that going along with the stats of 1 in 5, 110 ppl were pooled,

ahh another magdalene english applicant! 4 on tsr - that could be up to 10% of the total lol
were you there on the 11th december? or have you joined the fb group for interviewees?

and super congrats on your offer (not that I'm insanely jealous right now but this means that magdalene have pooled at least 4 english applicants - and they normally only have 1 success per year from the pool - so now I have very little hope ...)

Really? Well, if that's the case, then clearly I won't be getting any offers.

Thanks - and if you're good enough to be picked up from the pool I'm sure you will be - regardless of which college you came from. I heard at open day that Magdalene are big fans of using the pool, so they might give you an offer at the end if they don't find anyone who the like more in the pool.


I was there on the 11th. I'm pretty shy though so probably didn't get stuck in in terms of conversation. I was the ginger one in the gray suit hovering on the edge of people - I didn't know there was a facebook group - link me up?

Also - this thread moves so damn fast - I can barely keep up!

would it be fair to say no engineers or mathematicians, e.g non arts, people have been fished out yet? *fingers crossed* .

Any lawyers fished out? As far as I know there are three of us from my school who have been pooled and ones been fished out...I suspect I will be left in the pool with my armbands and floats...splashing around with my rubber ducky...
