What I'm thinking now is...is that unusual, for them to offer me an interview despite all their places being full up?


It can't be that unusual. There was a question on the SAQ along the lines of 'would you be okay if you were given an offer for deferred entry?'

Congratulations to everyone who has got an offer or an interview already. I've picked up 115 swimmers so far, so on the basis of the overall stats for last year's Pool, we should be expecting at least another 4 offers and 6 interviews - though I would say more because quite a lot of people have only posted when they have heard good news - ie there are poolees lurking out there who are still waiting too.

Another pooled applicant here, I applied to do Medicine and Emmanuel.
Still waiting, hoping to be fished.

I'm really not a fan of all this anxiety, you would think they could devise a system where, instead of telling you that you have been either made an offer, rejected or pooled, they would send out a letter later on in January telling you that you were rejected, pooled then rejected, pooled and made an offer, or invited back for re-interviewing.

That would get rid of the endless hope, since even if I've heard nothing by the 10th, there will still be a glimmer of hope on the horizon, however minute the chances are of hearing anything positive after then.

Hey guys, I was pooled and have now been invited for interview at another, does that mean that I cannot receive or get offers/interviews from any other college and that I cannot end up at my original college of choice now?

Downing as well! Us Downing types have the greatest chance according to last year's statistics, but I'm not taking that to mean a thing if other law people have been fished already...

Nope, I was pooled last year (and drowned) but a couple of friends were given interviews at two different colleges. They didn't get to decide which one would give them an offer though, that was up to the admissions tutors to organise.

Ok, So my e-mail thing wasn't working yesterday and I've just checked it and I've got an interview with Jesus College on thursday the 8th for Computer Science...
