You know, that's why I'm happy that I don't know if I got in or not yet (I'm quite sure I wasn't pooled so it's not like I have to wait much longer). I just don't want to read those words. At the moment I can still pretend that I'm in the running.
I see yor point, but doesn't the pooling packet say that packet say that, and i quote:
"5-10 January - some offers are made to applicants without interview"?
5-10 jan?
Yes this is true, but offers were made yesterday too (4th) And also, im guessing that even the colleges making the most pooled offers will have no more than 80 or so offers to make. Most colleges will be making a lot less offers than this, and some none.
How long does a phone call take? Not that long How long does it take to send a few e-mails? Not that long. The communication window opened over 24 hours ago, and i dont think they will wait around before contacting people.
The 5th-10th is more to cover their backs in my opinion. It's just so that they reserve the right to offer until later than they realistically will.
So sorry for the brutal realism. But it's probably game over for anyone in the same position as me
"4-7 January : selected applicants invited, by telephone or email, to return to cambridge for second interviews
5- 10 January: some offers ar made to pooled applicants without further interview"
What sucks for an international like me is the fact that even if i am made the improbable offer this week, i don't know how i'll find out. If colleges post acceptances, like they did originally then i'm in for a 2 week wait, as I live in India.....

8 – 31 January pooled applicants who are not called for further interview will hear about the final outcome of their Cambridge application from their original College
So that doesn't necessarily mean a rejection by the 10th.
well one of my teachers just rang me to ask if i'd been rejected/ given an offer/ pooled because the school didn't get a copy of the original letter sent to me. He then said that only one person from our school has been given an offer from the pool so far and that that was exceptionally quick. so maybe we should just be more patient!
But i really do think that if your SAQ hasn't changed, and you havn't heard from anyone, its almost safe to assume no offer. (this includes me aswell)
?
YOU! have been scaring the life out of me, cos i couldnt get on to my SAQ, which i still can't, and then i requested a new password from saq, and simultaneously got an interview from Churchill, so i don't think ALL hope is lost at all guys!
