Does it say that when you try to log in? Maybe it's the same for everyone in the pool because it's sort of in limbo?!

yeh it's like a pop up.
I've been pooled too, but I'm wondering if it was an autopool or not.. I took IGCSEs and didn't have 7A* (had 5A* + 2As and a B), but I had 95% at AS. Oh well, more waiting :frown:

Good luck to everyone with the pool!

Is anyone else in the position where they simply do not want another interview?

Absolutely.

i dunno what to think of the auto-pooled category. (of which I know im in)

on the one hand, it could be considered bad, because they are only pooling you because they "had" to.

on the other hand, it could be considered good, because you are, on paper, and academically, the best of the rejects. cause im guessing everyone in the pool had a bad/not great interview (a good interview would normally lead to an offer i pressume).

I dunno what to think of it all.

Everyone in the Autopool you mean?

Isn't all of this jabber about an auto-pool just a load of old giraffe's ear? I would guess that the people that get into the pool are the best of the best of the worst... like first losers. I thought I was going to get shot out of a canon into the sun because I didn't know who Francis Bacon was at interview - well I knew the interesting one - the artist one - the one what draws nice pitchers... However didn't know the one that supposedly crept into Shakespeares house in the dead of day and wrote all of his plays for him, then he put Shakespeare's hand in a bowl of warm water and caused him to piddle in his dank bed, then he skipped off giggling like a mad man - apparently. Anyway I'm in a pool now which means that I have a better chance of a place then I had before... 1 in 4.5ish has now become 1 in 3.9ish I think... But not a better chance then those people that have got an offer... I think that they have a 1 in 1ish chance of having an offer - it's a bit better. Anyway get to wait again now. Most exciting.

Is the fact I applied through CSAS due to ill health any benefit? It seems not to have been so far!
I got pooled too, Magdalene, English.
Just got pooled for Economics.
It's an annoying thing, the pool, because very, very few get accepted through it - so this extra wait is probably for nothing! Excellent.
But, hey, it is good to know that I come near to the Cambridge standard, at least.

794 applicants last year were accepted through the pool, so not really 'very, very few'.
12 pool offers for philosophy last year!

Yeah I'm not getting in.

Really? That's quite a lot!!
How many colleges are there? I bet they all pool about 2... Or actually some like yours with less applicants I bet you were the only one!
Pooled! the story of my life, that not quite good enough feeling mixed with hope.

I think people are getting a bit hysterical which can become a servere anticlimax :sigh:
however I'm surprisingly optimistic!

I just want to talk to other people in my postition ... ease the pain ....
so like, may any of you in the pool(i mean got pooled) try logging in the saq? it might be fun to see that none of you can log in, which meant u r being "pooled around"...

There's no way to knowww :frown:
That's why I want to know the numbers of people pooled. 240 people apply and 50 offers get made, 12 offers are made through the pool so roughly 1 in 4 offers made are through the pool... No this isn't helping.
Peace Bunny
I got pooled for SPS at Fitzwilliam. I'm surprised I wasn't rejected straight away, I have really poor GCSE results, and not that good AS. Don't know if that is a good or a bad thing, haha

what were your gcses? just outa interest, cos if you get at least 7A*s i wouldn't regard that as poor!
Some quotes that made me laugh on Winter Pool guide :

the one hand we must try to be fair to all
applicants, and be seen to be fair by the outside world;

Each subject will have the following options when the two interviewing Colleges wish to offer a place to an
applicant:
a) a simple coin toss OR

It comes down to a coin toss! This is not a football match this is our lives your playing with! hmmmm... :sigh:

I don't think it's barely any: 7 Hundreds and whatever the rest of the number was. Thats loads and loads of fingers that would get a place if you think about it, its like... 7 thousands and something. That is loads when you consider that 3000 people are pooled. It's almost as if everyone that is pooled gets a place. I suppose you have to take into account all of the different subjects and the Colleges. It's all just a bit of fun... I suppose whatever happens is what the universe wants. Ha. I hope the rubbish I just wrote down was helpful.
