Anyone else been pooled by Clare, or any other pooled SPS applicants?


I know someone and they have one interview.

Quick question: I couldn't log into my SAQ when I was told I had been pooled, as per usual it seems. I got a call from Girton last night to say they'd decided to fish me back out and give me an offer anyway - but I still can't access the SAQ? A bit worrying...


Just means the SAQ theory isn't 100% correct.

No, it'll be fine. They probably just haven't updated their system yet or something. Makes me feel better cos my SAQ is inactive and no offers yet :frown:

I was pooled by Clare for Engineering and just phoned them to change contact details. They told me that if you havent been 'fished' by now, then it is very unlikely you will hear anything from the colleges.
Sorry to put a downer on things...

I was pooled and returned to the same college for SPS. Might not mean anything since I haven't been interviewed or assigned to anywhere different though.

Well actually they'll need to contact the people who are being reinterviewed earlier won't they.

Six o clock, almost exactly. I babbled a bit nonsensically and since have been plagued with fears I heard them wrong, or something! What have you applied for/where?

omg thank you! some closure, this truly makes me feel much better, because I am actually not hearing anything at all! Nothing, and it's straight from Cambridge.

Phew, well that's over :smile: I'll get over it .... eventually.
It depends on when individual subjects have their pooling meetings. Every year since I applied (2004) there have been many people contacted around the 12th/13th sort of time.

Oh, wow. 'Fished' as in either made an offer or an interview?

This system is absolutely appaling.

Absolutely appaling, I much prefer Oxford's replying procedure.

by the way everyone I emailed Fitz to confirm that I was actually going to get an offer, and they said I probably wouldn't get my letter until mid-next week because of pool interviews and whatnot.

So there's still hope if your college doesn't ring people...

seeing as we've not seen many offers or interviews for law or vet etc, I don't think we should all start worrying.
Also bear in mind that they don't always call people anyway. I've known several people who at the end of January when waiting for their official rejection letter have an offer letter from a random college on the mat. I'm not saying thats particularly widespread, but it certainly isn't rare.
Ahhh, I'm starting to worry now! Not heard anything at all, and my SAQ is still inactive (and I've tried getting a new password too...) argh! I hope this doesn't mean I've already been rejected...I'd wanna know now if that's the case!

And that's rubbish about not hearing by now means you're rejected! Offers are made up until the 10th at least, according to the timetable...I just wanna hear now! I don't like being kept waiting!

Oh, and found out today that 8 of about 20 Cambridge applicants from my school were pooled...which is quite a high number! But one of my friends said that in her sister's year (3 years ago) all but one of the pooled applicants got an offer...though I dunno how many that was...maybe there were only 2 of them hehe. Greeeeat...
