just wondered if anybody else has been pooled for computer science, anyone received an offer/interview?

Does anyone know if many computer science applicants get taken out of the pool usually? Or is it hopeless

Also bear in mind that they don't always call people anyway. I've known several people who at the end of January when waiting for their official rejection letter have an offer letter from a random college on the mat. I'm not saying thats particularly widespread, but it certainly isn't rare.

As it stands I've seen 2 taken out for interviews, both at Jesus. And I am also pretty sure not many of us get fished out, due to how few comp sci spots there are already!

Its just ridiculous to state that your mates and teachers were surprised you didn't get in - everyone in this pooling forum is good enough for a place in Cambridge, by the fact they were pooled, and will have supportive friends who will go, when they hear the news, "but you're sooooo clever?!?!?!"

"OMG? Really? I was sure you'd get in!" from someone - be it a sympathetic friend or the head of your chosen subject at school/college.
In fact I suppose a hell of a lot of rejected people got told that too
As Cambridge say, they reject a lot of people who would have done well there.

Was pooled for Engineering, now been rung up by Trinity and Magdalene for more interviews . Surely those colleges hardly ever take pooled people? Originally applied for Corpus.
