I'm off upstairs to chill out now guys. Will speak tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring good news for us. One person from my college pool has been fished by Girton for Arch and Anth, so I hope a few more are taken tomorrow!

No I haven't been to Wolfson, which is why I'm keeping a relatively open mind at the mo :smile:

It looks pretty far from the town centre on paper though, which kinda bugs me. And if I do get an offer I wouldn't know what to do with myself for the whole of 2009-10... I've never considered a gap year before!

Pooled as well, for economics. Anyone know what our chances are at this stage? Read the statistics from the Cambridge winter pool, and they were slightly encouraging, but seeing how it's quite late now in the winter pool, was just wondering if there is any reasonable hope.

Wolfson is only ten, maybe 15 minutes from the centre, its close to Selwyn and Newnham, and only a couple of minutes from Sidge where all the arts lectures are.

I have no idea. I'm a third year but had a gap year due to illness, maybe thats it?

I think maybe because you were talking at some point about talking to your tutor about what you were doing after uni maybe :eyeball:

I think homerton has definitely fished. if you look on cambridge colleges sub- forum it looks like some-one has been fished out by Girton for economics today.

Keep an open mind and make sure that you take a good look around (though I'm not sure how busy it will be as I don't think term has started). Wolfson is firstly not far from the History Faculty/Sidgwink (your subject?), 5 minutes via the back gate and the History Faculty is 7 minutes from the town centre via Kings. With a bicycle, you can get into town quite quickly. It is a very international college, if you are British you will be in a minority, and there are very many international events, they also seem very keen on extras, lots of dance/yoga type evening classes for example.

anyone know what could be going on with my application? I could access SAQ yesterday but not on saturday and the college changed to Magdalene (was Trinity before) but I haven't heard anything from them. Any clue? I'm hoping its good news but don't want to get my hopes up.

Also, anyone know what Magdalene is actually like? I'm not too picky as I would be grateful if i got an offer from any college, just curious.

yeah most probably they're in the process of trying to communicate with you through letter...

on the bright side of things, as nina has been saying (no doubt trying to earn more chocolate if all of us in the pool do get offers eventually :P) there is definitely still time. a lot of colleges still haven't made offers/interview offers for people in the pool yet so i'd expect them to start that fairly soon...

having said that though, today has been very quiet for getting offers/interviews..at least in terms of our TSR sample of people...

Has anyone been offered a place from the pool when their SAQ is still showing inactive? Or does it still being inactive at this stage mean you're definitely not going to get anything?

You are all pretty safe, as both Helenia and myself are actually leaving Cambridge this year, unless I degrade this year.

So I think i'm going to stop checking/posting in this thread. It doesn't help the stress levels.

That seems like a good plan, i think i might do the same.
Although i bet i'll still find myself on here tomorrow feeling even more depressed than today :frown:
