Think of the consequences of getting grade D and below, by that you would want to study and get good grades.

I think you should start revising during easter, it's kind of early to do revision at htis time.
easter's only a month away!!
True. Study during the easter then. :p:
well thanx for the advice. just out of curiosity- which exams did u find needed the most revising?
I agree with Trev. When I did my GCSEs last year, I just kept reminding myself of the grades I wanted to get come results day and how I would only get them if I revised. Then at least if you don't do as well as expected (which I'm sure you will  ) you'll know you did your best and you won't feel guilty. Also, give yourself some kind of reward after each revison session you do- even if it's only something simple like eating a chocolate bar or watching your favourite TV programme, it just gives you something to look forward to and makes it easier. Revising with friends is good as well as you actually do some revision!
Revision with friends is a good idea, nevertheless make sure your friends are serious about studying, and not chatting about anything else, etc...

Another thing to motivate yourself is to think of the good grades you want. In addition, if you have a favourite part in the subject, it might make you want to study for it.

When i did my revision i was motivated only because I knew I HAD to learn it.. so i sat down, put the radio on.. and got on with the task at hand.

Dont think how boring it will be, just do it. Im on a gap year and i choose to read law books.. it mite not be the MOST interesting books in the world but it IS interesting and Important, especially to me.

hope that helps (?)

Hi,
I have posted this same message in all the "revision" threads.

The best way to revise is to learn the content and then dive straight into exam questions. If you get stuck on exam questions, then ideally you an answer guide would be good, one which shows HOW to get to the answers. Well this is actually available, but only for Maths (as far as I know). Past exam papers are available at MrMaths.com for Edexcel Maths and answer guides will also soon be available on the site as well. These have been created so you understand every part of the working. Also if your still stuck with maths, you could add [email protected] to your msn messenger and speak to whoever is online about any questions you have - for free!

This is all well and good for Maths I hear you say, but what about other subjects? Well 'I don't know' is the answer. Sorry! Hey, at least you'll have 1 gcse in the bag! One minor thing to note is that MrMaths hasnt got past papers or answer guides for any other examination board apart from Edexcel.

Good luck to everyone this summer in all your exams and remember, tune into MrMaths.com once you have completed your Maths exams as the answer guides for the summer 05 papers will be available pretty shortly afterwards.
