I did 10  I feel a bit inadiquate (sp) now but I did ok in them 3A*'s, 6A's and a C (German bah). AS levels are hard A2's are worse. Why does everyone seem to do so many AS + A2. I mean I did 4 AS and 3 A2 and I thought that was normal but everyone else on this forum seems to do like 5. I am not complaining I have a place at med school I was just wondering why so many people do some many exams? I wasn't given and option on the number I did.

i did 10..and think that was plently.

on the As/A2 thing, i wish someone had told me that all i needed was 4 as' and 3 A2. would have saved me a lot of hassle.....but because i got no advice...ended up doing 6 As' and 3 A2's...and messing up the A2's that i did do.

love Katy ***

Well I do 11 and the YE thingy worth 2. So 13, in effect.
Young enterprise isn't worth 2 gcses! I don't know who told you that but it's total rubbish. I do YE now, I'm in yr12, and while I can put it down on my UCAS form if I want (though so many people do, I don't know if I will), it certainly doesn't cary that sort of weight.

I did 10... part of it was double award science, so I studied for 11 - although if you count english as one, then I only studied for 10.

It is technically worth two, we were told by my school's exam officer.

Young Enterprise wanted students to do coursework as well, but that was ruled out because everyone is either at GCSE or AS/A-level so already have a heavy workload.

Hmm. Well if you're sure. I know I've never been told that. I don't think it's equal work to 2 GCSEs. I've done the exam, trade fair, and my company's just reached our area's finals, but I still don't feel like it's been that much work, more fun. But anyway, good news if it is worth that, makes it all the more worthwhile!

there is a lot of techincal stuff to learn in photography and my parents thought that as i was doing triple science and statistics they would let me take drama instead of a language

i would rather take a subjest like drama and pass than a language and fail

You'll regret not having a language at GCSE.

im no genius and regularly make mistakes but cholochloe are you one of the people who make up ideal grades to boast because you say you got 5As and 5A* but you spelt compulsory wrong and it cant be a typo as the letters are at opposite ends of the keyboard! no offensive just thought that i would point it out as some mentioned about boasting

It is worth 2. And if you think about the effort you put in, it is about right.
Unequal distribution of workload will apply to any company though - there's the Managing Director to Deputy Personnel (e.g.) gap, which will vary a huge amount.

As a MD, I personally would say the amount of effort I've put in is equal to at least 4 GCSEs, maybe even 5. So either I didn't do a lot of work for my GCSEs at all, or I simply love my company lots. Which I do
