Hills Road sixth form personal statement

I need to start writing my personal statement for my application - any advice on what to include? What tone should I write in? Etc.
Bear in mind I'm from out of area so need to sound as appealing as possible.
All advice is appreciated, especially if from past or present Hills students so you can tell me what got you in.

I need to have it done within a week or so, so I'd be really grateful for any help.
I applied to Hills and Long, but went to Long Road in the end. Our secondary school told us to write:

Why you want to go there -
they'll probably be extra interested as your 'out of the area'.
Why you chose the courses you are applying for - have they always been an interest? Study them in the future?
Work Experience - If you did any in Year 10/11, what you gained from it etc.
Future plans - Thinking of University?
What you have done at your present secondary school - Duke Of Edinburgh, School band, etc.
Activities you do out of school - e.g. in a football team - shows work in team well (could be useful for one of the courses you want to study?)

Thats about it! My Personal Statement was only 3/4 of an A4 page!

Good luck with Hills, I've got a number of friends there who really enjoy it!

Hi, I'm wanting to apply this year, how do you suggest starting it? An introduction to who I am or just jumping straight in there with why I'm wanting to continue in education or apply for training?

Thanks, and I know that this thread is four years old but I'm hoping that there might still be someone out there.

Hey, i am also applying for hills this year and like you, i spent a while thinking about how to start it. In the end i decided to kick start it by explaining what my main hobby is and how it links to what courses i would like to take and what i would like to do in the future. It all ended up tying nicely together through the whole thing. I hope this helps a little, feel free to ask if you are still stuck :P
Good luck btw, hope to see you there
There is an entire section of TSR for Personal Statements with lots of advice etc
Read it all before you ask any more questions.
