I am fairly sure that this varies hugely depending on where you go (PBL, lecture etc)
People's applications vary between PBl and lecture based courses. So what does it matter? I am just interested to see what a typical week is like and i thought other may be too.

If someone points me at a suitable hosting site i'll upload a few timetables from this and last year.

Timetables vary school-to-school, term-to-term, week-to-week and depend very much on whether you bother going in...

rapidshare? You can also have a delete link with them if you want to remove the files afterwards.

Or can't you just attach them in a image/pdf format?

Ok, hopefully coming up we have, a week from this year, and two from last year.

With each i've tried to get weeks showing a range of things.

To put it in context each our in class normally takes an hour or so to write up, and the red boxes at the top take forever to do but aren't accompanied by lectures.

Its the online timetable you click on each and it gives you the learning objectives, slides, reading references etc etc etc.

That doesn't seem to have worked, and I can't find a way to upload as a file directly to the forum.

have you tried photobucket?

Also, I believe you can attach images to the post as an attachment

Please work.
That was a bloody nightmare.

Got there in the end.

And yes I often get no lunch break on a tuesday (and tend not to get home till six)

Nice that they give you saturday and sunday for 'self-study'.
Thanks for that, it was really quite interesting even though I didn't apply to St Andrews.
No worries, its the sort of thing I would have liked to see when applying.

Thank you for that!

Also just out of interest, where do you go for your placements in St Andrews?

1st year medical student timetable:-

Monday - Sleep off weekend hangover. Miss lecture. Union night out in evening.
Tuesday - Attend lecture hungover - sleep in back of lecture theatre. Ensure few hours of sleep before night out on piss.
Wednesday - Consider attending lecture if not too hungover - Sports in afternoon - Piss up with sports team in night.
Thursday - Make big effort to attend lecture and may be even hit library for 1 hour. Big night out.
Friday - Find random stranger in bed after night out. Attend afternoon lecture.
Saturday/Sunday - too expensive to go into town so get pissed in halls with mates or hit Union. Pizza.

Sums up 1st year pretty well.

It changes every week but typically 12 or so 1hr lectures per week, 2hr microscope practical most weeks, a workshop now and again, a seminar every week or so. Also 2 GP visits and 1 hospital visit in the first term. Wednesday afternoons off, Fridays mostly off. Everything seems to start at 9:00. By the looks of things next term is going to be heavier though.

6 modules:
Public health (epidemiology, statistics, research stuff)
Behavioural sciences (psychology, sociology)
Personal and professional development (first aid, ethics. We're not examined on this.)
Molecular basis of medicine (biochemistry, genetics)
