I usually just draw a box and write "data logger" in it, and that seems to have got me through ok...

Advantages of a data logger is that it will often plot the graphs for you, and more accurately than you could with a pencil and paper, so it saves time and effort and is a bit more accurate.

I'm not really sure about disadvantages... they're more expensive than ordinary ammeters and voltmeters? They can take a long time to set up?

use the symbols for an ammeter and voltmeter or whatever you have the data logger set to

ok thanks! that is helpful. because i wasn't sure how the data logger could be in 2 laces (i.e. in series as an ammeter and parallel as a voltmeter). So you just draw normal ammeter and voltemeter symbols and connect to a box saying data logger?

thanks

By a data logger, do you mean a computer connected to a device that works out say, the temperature of something?
Or have I got a different idea of what it is?

yeah that's the thing!
is there a circuit symbol?

I don't think so. I just drew a box, with a small rectangle inside that box which represented the small screen, then wires coming out of that box into whatever device you need to use. Label everything though!

ok! thanks for that

do you happen to know - on another notes - whether a diode circuit symbol has a circle around it or not?

like this or here ????

thanks a lot

I'm 99.9% sure they are the same. The circle is only really there if you need to draw arrows from/to it. If this is for a-level or gcse physics, either will do.

It really doesn't matter I don't think,as long as you have the diode the correct way around
