i've been round talybont.. that looks lovely!

Talybont is really good - South has bigger rooms and network connection points but you can get a car parking space in North, so I guess it depends which you'd prefer.

Victoria Hall is stunning, but a lot extra when you'd be perfectly happy at any of the other halls.

If I make Cardiff my first choice I'll hopefully end up in Talybont

I live at Uni Hall which has big cool rooms and en suite but it's way too far from the uni! Talybont South is a lot better and more modern than North! Victoria Halls is hella expensive but they do have sky...

I got the accomadation booklet through the post yesterday. Anyone know what Talybont Court is like? I think that will be my first choice followed by Talybont South

And also, does anyone know what Senghennydd court is like? I know it's not en suite, but it seems to be in a really good location (near the SU and the city centre). Is it nice or really crappy? I want nice accomadation! But it would be nice to be near to stuff too, Talybont seems like a long walk! And I suppose I could live without an en suite.

Lastly, what about Colum Hall?

Senghennydd may be close but it is a DUMP!!!! DO NOT go there! talybon south is probably your best bet for nice rooms etc, ensuite and trust me, talybont is not far, it as 15 min walk. i live a 40 min walk away! possibly more! Column Hall rooms are nice but you have to share a bathroom

I don't care that much but it would be nice! Sharing a bathroom between two should be fine, but I don't want to share one with like 8 people!

Is Uni hall good? It looks good but it seems sooo far away! Do you like Cardiff uni?

I don't even think they've finished building Talybont Court yet ... well they hadn't last time I was up that way, but who knows the rate they get houses up these days!
I always thought Colum Hall was ensuite and it was Aberconway across the road that had a shared bathroom between two?
Althought Senghennydd Court is not particularly nice, Senghennydd Hall across the road from it is really lovely

I looked at Senghennydd Hall but isn't that catered? I'd rather have self catered.

I think I'll just go for good old Taly South

Uni Hall is nice, but too far away to be honest! My boyfriend lives at talybont south which is pretty cool! I didn't realise what Talybont court was until someone said it wasn't finished. It's right next to Talybont South and by my reckoning wont be ready for next year

Thanks

What is Colum hall like? It doesn't have network connection points, does this mean I wouldn't be able to have the internet on my lap top?

Colum hall looks good because it's near the humanities building and I am very lazy! There's only 112 students so it's quite a small hall. I want some where sociable but friendly too. There's too many to choose from!

It's part catered I think, so you get your evening meal but nothing else. But self catered is good cause you don't have to have your evening meal within a set time ... and if you wanna eat out some nights you won't feel like you're wasting the money you already paid!

Taly South is wicked though, that's where I was and I absolutely loved it.

Thats pretty much why I'm gonna go with Colum! Its the nearest en-suite hall to the Redwood Bldg (where I'll be  ) and its more compact! I'm not much of a wild party animal

Are you gonna be studying Pharmacy or Optometry?

I was gonna put Colum Hall as my first choice then I realised it's a good way to the nearest supermarket! Plus it's on Colum Road aka Rat Road, which is also really busy.
