Put on a bit of Air, Zero 7, Goldfrapp, Royksopp, Massive Attack, Portishead, Morcheeba. That kind of thing. I'd guess.

I only put music on so we dont hear any horrible sounds, as in, we could be well into the thick of things and then hear something nasty, only to then sticks some music on

That's a good selection I think but it might tend to get a bit too chilled. You should add Lamb to that selection.

I can't imagine making love while listening to the intro of Grace (the song).

the music just sets the mood...

and masks any... unpleasant sounds

Unpleasant sounds? Isn't that all part of the sex? They aren't all that unpleasant that they need to be drowned out by music! Well then again maybe yours are hehehe.

Depends if it is "making love" to a boyfriend or if it was like a new pull that you were having the first few passionate liasnons with. For the former I would choose something chilled out and romantic, and for the latter maybe something a little more exciting, but not exactly upbeat, unless it was REALLY passionate! Why not make a mix CD or an Ipod playlist?

I'll second the Morcheeba (older stuff, like trigger hippie! :flute:) and Massive Attack. Out of that list the only other band I have listened to is Goldfrapp. Are the other's similar and worth a shot if I like the others?

Absolutely, they're all very chilled, probably more so than the ones you mention. Try Moon Safari by Air and Dummy by Portishead and you won't go far wrong.

I know a lot of people would get it on to 'sexual healin' but i find that a bit too upfront. A song to make love to should be sutle.
I've had sex to a lot of music btu the ones that really stick in my mind are sonic youth, death cab for cutie and the postal service.
