The Witches in macbeth aactually represent his thoughts note that they appear whenever he contemplates serious matters and they voice things he thought of at the back of his head.

I think they represent more than that. I feel that they represent the evil within Macbeth, as it is they who prompt him into doing evil deeds, never good deeds.
