First holiday with boyfriend

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or ideas... Me and my boyfriend want to go away somewhere at the start or end of summer (avoiding school holidays) and don't really have any idea where to start looking. We obviously want it to be as cheap as possible, for about a week to 10 days but want to avoid just lying on a beach for the whole time. A beach would be good but also places to go and sightsee/explore. We're both 19 going on 20 and so would want a few bars/restaurants and places to go at night but nothing crazy like Ayia Napa etc...

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you

what about france ??
its really nice especially at night
The south coast of France? Very beautiful
My big brother and his girlfriend who are roughly your age went to a Greek island for one holiday and Morocco for their next one. Both were really good exploring type holidays and so they travelled around a lot and still very sunny with good beach opportunities.

I'm taking my girlfriend to Norway for valentines, got some proper cheap flights on Ryanair, then we're going skiing and staying with my relatives, so it shouldn't cost too much. IF you want really cheap then stay in Britain, I can really recommend camping on the outskirts of Polruan, a really romantic little cornish village, with Fowey just across the estuary. If you want to go foreign, perhaps Brittany, but you would be with a load of tourists. South of France would be great, and you could always skip over to Barcelona. All depends on budget...

I'd NEVER fly with Ryanair again.

How about Italy? Cheap flights, and if you go to Rome I can recommend a very nice but cheap hotel

We went to Paris for 3 nights, used Eurostar and got a really good deal (£150 for hotel plus Eurostar tickets) Plus Paris can be a really romantic city so if you want to do something relatively easy, go for that. Just stay away from the Hoterl Murat :p:
Go somewhere not in the EU, because the current exchange rate is absolutely atrocious. Avoid Rome at all costs, or you'll be paying £5 a glass of wine!

Hahah yeh they do SUCK ASS. But they're cheap as chips and they're the only carrier who fly to Haugessund so don't have a choice! What was your bad experience? I've had many!!!

Haha well everything about it was crap... the seats are small and uncomfortable, this silly advert music before you fly is really annoying, the flight attendants are ugly and seem to not enjoy their job, you have to pay for everything, even for a drink, you "sit where you like" which means everyone tries to fight his way to the front to get a window seat, and if you're unlucky like me you get a fat old smelly woman next to you who makes you feel sick every time she lifts her arm.

I just hate it, hate it, hate it. Eurgh.

Try looking for places in Turkey. Tickets and stay are usually quite cheap. Avoid the all-in stuff though, those places are bad for your brain.

barcelona is something else. you can go to most eu capitals for a weekend pretty low cost these days

you could have a look at sta travel and see what type of tours they offer? get one that allows private time but also provides sight seeing. they normally have meals and within tour travel included and some of them aren't that bad moneywise.

DON'T go to Paris..
It's cliched and so many couples I know who went there broke up shortly afterwards because everyone has high expectations of it being a romantic, perfect trip and it never figures out that way..

Try Italy. My boyfriend and I stayed in a lovely cheap b&b by the sea called Viareggio and it was very reasonable and perfect.
I was only 15 at the time as well but got on just fine!

Also, if you're looking to book anywhere, check the hotel out on tripadvisor as it gives honest ratings from previous stayers.

Good luck!
Easyjet to Split in Croatia - it's not in the Euro so it's cheap.

Then coach down to Dubrovnik which is a beautiful old town on the Meditteranian coast.
Croatia is beautiful.

I went to Opatija and wow

Thanks everyone! I'm really keen on Italy but probably not a good idea with the exchange rate so maybe Croatia
