Hi Thommykins,

I've found out I also have an interview on the 11th. Slightly nervous already! Do you know how many people have been selected for interviews? I'm not sure how successful I will be considering there are only 8 places all over Scotland

Ah-ha, congratulations! what time's yours? im at three in glasgow..not sure how many have got through, an and im fully not expecting to get the job for the same reason; 8 spaces haha: great job though!

I'm in at 1.30pm. ive just spent the day trying to come up with scenarios that have shown me to be a good team player etc. I would love to do this job so I'm studying for it like an exam! What areas did you select to work in? I chose Ayrshire and Arran, Glasgow and Clyde, and Lanarkshire. If i got through i'd hope that i'd get one of those.

Was just thinking if the interview is 50 minutes long and i'm in at 1.30pm, I should be out at 2.20pm. That doesn't leave enough time to interview someone else before you. So I assume that it will be me then you.

I'm thinking they could maybe do 5 or 6 interviews max. per day over the 3 days, so im quite chuffed that from the couple of hundred people that apply im maybe 1 of 20 thats got an interview!

just to say, if its anything like the english NHS interviews, there will be more than one interview room operating at one time. At Birmingham, there were 15 interviews in progress at any one time. So they'll probably be able to do a few more than 5 a day!

To be fair Toddler, the Scottish scheme has only a few hundred applicants, unlike the thousands who apply for the English scheme. So I'm not sure if it will be the multi-room interview that you described, but i may well be wrong! Either way I'll just have to go in and sell myself!

I'm not sure. I suspect that perhaps they may interview in more than one location. Just be glad to have the interview done with now. Got a new suit today so thats one thing off the list to worry about!

Has anyone heard the outcome of their interview yet? I think they said it would be this week. Mines was ok, I managed to answer their questions with some kind of response!

217 people applied, 72 got interviews, 36 will go to assessment centre and there will be 8 jobs. Thats what one of the current graduates on the scheme told me.

Not heard anything yet, despite constantly checking my emails! I'm not too confident to be honest..everyone seemed really nice at the interview, so I would certainly be applying again next year if the news is bad. Good luck!

Found out I've made it to the assessment centre! Quite chuffed. Although I realise there will be 36 people for the 8 jobs ( that a one in 4.5 chance!). Can only do my best! Anyone else heard?

Anyone attending the interviews in Glasgow this year? No idea what they will be asking at all..... scared. I wish hey had given us an idea. Also, there is no choice of where you will be placed.... Exciting journey to the unknown

I'll be at the interviews in Glasgow next week too, I have no idea what to expect though, I don't know anybody who's applied to this before! Have you got any idea what they're looking for?

I have some potential bad news, the NHS in Scotland will interview all day, usually just for one position this normally takes 15min per candidate, as they may well look to fill 8 positions they will look at the person in more detail, rather than qualification. How personable you are and will you fit in! they will allow aproximately 20-30 mins per candidate, not allow you to talk for hours.
The interview list will be aprox 18 to 20.

Hi, is anyone applying to the NHS Scotland Graduate programme this year? The application is fairly straightforward apart from one question.

'What changes would you like to introduce to the health agenda in Scotland over the next 5-10 years and how you would endeavour to influence people to implement this change? '

I don't have a clue what to write for this question. Any ideas/hints/tips?

Thanks
